There are many parents and community members who volunteer at Spencer Valley School. Here is a partial list of how our volunteers have supported the students now and throughout the years.
- Helping in the classroom
- Tutoring a child individually
- Gardening
- Building sets and costumes for plays
- Upgrading playground areas (Clean-up Day)
- Rehearsing with students
- Cooking classes
- Sharing a talent (music, ceramics, careers)
- Organizing a service learning project
- Helping teachers prepare work or grading homework
All volunteers must fill out an application packet, provide tuberculosis (TB) clearance, attend district volunteer training and be fingerprinted through the San Diego County Office of Education clearinghouse.
