House System Information

The Spencer Valley House System

Welcome to the heart of our school culture! Spencer Valley is proud to implement the Ron Clark House System as a foundational part of our campus community.

This system transforms our school into a vibrant, connected, and supportive place. Whether you are a returning family or brand new to our community, this page will guide you through how our Houses help every student thrive.

🤔 What is the House System?

Inspired by the world-renowned Ron Clark Academy, the House System functions like a built-in team or family network within our larger school community. Our entire campus is organized into four distinct sub-communities called "Houses."

For our returning students, their House membership carries over, allowing them to deepen their loyalty, traditions, and leadership. For our new students and staff, we kick off each year with a high-energy Sorting Ceremony to officially welcome them into their lifelong Houses!

❤️ The Heart Behind Our Houses

We intentionally chose this framework to celebrate and support the unique dynamics of our small, rural school. We focus heavily on two main areas:

  • Bridging the Grade Gap: Because our campus serves a wide grade span, it can be challenging for our youngest and oldest students to interact. In our Houses, students from every single grade level are mixed together. This allows older students to step up as mentors and leaders, while younger students gain a built-in group of older role models.

  • Connecting Staff and Students: This isn't just for kids! Every teacher and staff member belongs to a House, too. This gives our staff the opportunity to build strong, positive bonds and celebrate successes with different students they might not otherwise interact with in a traditional classroom setting.

🌟 Meet Our Four Houses

Every student and staff member belongs to one of four legendary Houses. Each one represents unique values and traits that we instill in our school culture every day:

House   Meaning & Origin   Core Values
Sollevare Latin for "To Uplift" Leadership, encouragement, and rising above challenges.
Isibindi Zulu for "Courage" Bravery, standing up for what is right, and perseverance.
Nukumori        Japanese for "Warmth"       Kindness, empathy, and welcoming others with a warm heart.
Reveur French for "Dreamer" Passion, creativity, and chasing big ideas.

🏆 Points & Friendly Competition

Throughout the school year, students earn points for their respective Houses by demonstrating excellent character, academic effort, school spirit, and random acts of kindness.

This healthy, friendly competition promotes teamwork, builds camaraderie, and teaches students that their individual daily actions contribute directly to a larger, positive community goal.
