Kelly Baas - Superintendent/Principal

I began my career as a third-grade teacher in Illinois and have since taught at almost every level, including kindergarten, first, second, and third grades, and middle school. I then moved into administration, serving as an assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent, all in Illinois. In 2019, my family and I relocated to California, where I took on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Ed Services at Ramona Unified before finding my way to Spencer Valley.

I feel incredibly blessed to have landed at such an exciting school. I love working daily with our teachers, students, and families, and I look forward to each new school year as a fresh start. My husband and I live in Ramona with our two cats and the six school pet rats that I care for on weekends. I have two children: one lives and works in Tokyo, Japan, while the other lives and works in Long Island, New York.
